Raiden was once again on the phone as his students arrived. "Pancake-themed art? It's upsetting...because I can't eat the pancakes. They're taunting me...glad we understand each other. Besides, if you're going to go that route you need to make it waffles or Gray will riot. Oh, I gotta go, my class is here. Just--pick something for the walls, okay? Something that's not pancakes."

Giving Castor a directive like that, he was going to end up with a Monet on the walls of his brunch spot, probably. At least it wasn't an Instagram wall?

"Sorry about that," Raiden told his students, "but speaking of pancakes, let's make some! And waffles," he added quickly, before a certain gremlin masquerading as his brother could open his mouth. "We are also going to make waffles. And French toast, the third member of this little trio of sweet breakfast options...although they can be made savory. These things are like a delicious canvas you can paint on. You can add fruit or nuts or chocolate chips to the pancakes or the waffles, or the sky's the limit when it comes to toppings.

"I've got a number of recipes--for pancakes, waffles, and French toast, plus a couple of fun variations, like the hash brown waffle or whole wheat waffles for when you want a little extra health and nutty flavor in your breakfast. We don't have time for it today but a French toast casserole is a great way to feed a crowd without having to stand over the stove all morning, so keep that in your back pocket for the future. So...yeah. Pick out your favorite form of breakfast--there are no wrong answers! Gray. There are no wrong answers." He was giving his brother a very stern look now, and possibly a telepathic directive to not evangelize waffles at people today. "And let's get to cooking! Remember, I'm here if you need any help."

Quiet day.

Up at the School, the only things that was happening was Shenanigans down in the park, where Anakin inflicted socks upon the voluntolds, which needless to say certain people used as an excuse for flirting, because they cannot get a room, Stewart was very attached to his 'adorable shark' socks, baffling Hannibal. Then everyone had to balance tanks of mysterious liquid on their feet, to varying levels of success.

Nothing for the Dorms, while in Town, Adrian dipped his wick making candles at Pick Your Poison, while at Caritas, Tino implied there were others like him by claiming it was his brother's birthday, though neither person taking the stage seemed inclined to celebrate. Stark was...awkward, Stewart brought along dubious brownies, and Atton was remarkably judgemental for someone who deals with his problems by faking his death.

Oh, I know I am, but I've never done that.

Today class had been asked to meet at Portalocity. Hannibal smiled as he greeted them.

"When I initially taught this class, circumstances demanded we leave the island for this one. I see no reason not to continue it as a tradition this time. The Victoria and Albert museum had an exhibition that matches our class, so why not have a field trip? As we will already be including a time change in our portals, we can follow it with a late lunch or early dinner in the London of 2019."

A notice had gone out Monday evening informing the class that this week's class would be cancelled.

Liliana had had an ethical dilemma over whether or not she should cancel class for her own entertainment but - and this should come as a shock to nobody - she wasn't great at ethics, okay?

Enjoy your free period, darlings. We continue with a new scenario next week.

Good morning, everyone! The sun was shining, the weather was getting pleasantly warm and Anakin had set himself up in the park with a bullhorn and a bunch of giant plastic storage containers full of liquids. Ice water, orange soda, chocolate pudding, the leftover slime...

Surely this will end well for everybody!

"Today you will participate in the ten toes challenge!" Anakin announced. "Working in teams, you will lay on your backs and balance these containers on your socked feet. Then, going in a circle, you must each take off one sock, then the other, without tipping the liquid onto yourselves. It's about teamwork!"

And gravity. And Anakin's personal amusement.

"Come down when I call your name and get your team socks!" He grinned. "Oh, and no powers, please. That takes away the fun."

The fun for the audience.

Good morning, it’s Wednesday, I hope you all know to avoid Anakin by now but having said that it’s time to talk about what the squirrels have written for me today starting with the school.

My class on Finding New Hobbies made brownies with whatever sorts of things people might want to add to them.
*chittering*
Well, I hope not during class! Norse Life practiced axe throwing and I hope no one had to visit the clinic after it was over. Or while it was happening. The Wonderful World of Art was going to draw people but the only person who was willing to model was Tino so thankfully they had to draw fruit instead. And then there was Paintball! where Anakin probably cheated while everyone else was trying to shoot each other or buckets or both.

Nothing from the dorms, sorry Porg, so we’ll move on to the town.

Nell was grumpy and tired at her shop. I hope she’s all right. Charlie was more cheerful and listening to viking rock, I don’t know what that means, and Stewart approved of her musical choices. I suppose that’s good? Bucky was at the movie theatre with a lot of M&Ms and Jesse came in to visit him at work.

Finally I have that Gladio was at Atlas Gym with a magic treadmill or haunted treadmill or some sort of treadmill that won’t stop. Summer was there to fl- … to work out. And Nell came in to see Gladio and seemed to be doing much better than she was while she was at her shop. Good.

That seems to be all. Be careful of the park and I’ll be back here again next week, I think.

Hey there Fandom, it's me, ya girl, Arden Finch, welcoming you to June and the beginning of summer proper, even if we are already halfway through our first summer session.

Which makes for a good enough transition to talking about School, I suppose! Teamwork had us doing trust falls out on the lawn and there are way too many laughing squirrels around me right now. Creative Problem Solving where the Dean judged everybody's art and then they threw water balloons at people. Especially Cal. Sorry, babe. The Art of Conversation practiced insincere enthusiasm - wow - and National Park Adventure Team where folks got to look for snow leopards or go on a bird and wildflower tour.

No Dorms and very little from Town, it looks like. The Infinite Consortium had its usual lunchtime guest in the form of Professor Scientia, who convinced Professor Vess to leave for vacation after work...on a Monday. Okay then. Vi was working on her art project for class at the Magpie Emporium. And at the Clinic, they welcomed Pride Month with rainbow cookies and crab paintings.

And that's what I've got for notes, so it's ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off and leaving you with the first of our Pride Month songs, Red Wine Supernova by Chappell Roan. Bye!

Does anyone else need an excuse to shoot at things this week?" Steve asked. "Because we did."

Thus the paintball sniper rifles!

"We've modified the paintball guns so they work as sniper rifles," Tony said. "And set up various little hidden spots to hole up in."

"There are also targets located over paint buckets, if you're looking to increase your shooting accuracy," Steve added helpfully, "you can hit the target and flip the buckets."

"Maybe don't stand under the buckets if you're hoping to win," Tony suggested. "Just a little advice.

"That's good strategy," Steve agreed. "Okay, everyone, suit up!"

Today, the Danger Shop was set up as an axe-throwing range, with a beaming Thor presiding over it. "Today, we shall participate in an activity that has become quite popular of late, at your bars and such," proof that truly, nothing went better together than alcohol and throwing sharp objects, "although the ones found at such places are often made of plastic. Fear not, you shall be just as safe today. This is all a simulation," he reminded his students. "The activity is quite simple." He demonstrated by one-handedly chucking an axe at a target, which it hit dead center. "Now you try. We shall make a bit of a competition of it, hmm? The winner gets a prize! A ten dollar gift card to The Perk, which in this modern day is just about enough to buy a coffee, I believe." Now get to axe-chucking!

There were easels set up around the room, and in the centre of it was a display of fruit. Very suggestive fruit.

"We're going back tot eh basics for this one," Aphra told the class. "Drawing from life."

"We were planning on doing actual life drawing, to give you the experience," Isabela added. "Unfortunately the only person responding to our ad for a model was Tino." And despite what some might think, Isabela did have standards.

"So, fruit."

"Fruit. That was once alive, so technically it counts."

Hobby class this week was being held in the home ec room. That meant that, once again, it was time to bake with Stark.

Not like that, Stewart. Probably.

“Morning, everyone,” Stark said. “Today we’ll be doing something that isn’t a new hobby for me but it may be for some of you. Today we’ll be baking. I thought we could start with brownies. Brownies are fairly simple but you can make adjustments to make them your own, if you like. Add different things. Extra chocolate, cinnamon, coffee, or maybe some fruit. Sprinkles? There are lots of choices.”

The choices available included some brownie mixes, a simple recipe and the necessary ingredients for it, and some moddable options for toppings and mix-ins.

“You can also make frosting for brownies, if you like. There’s a recipe for that as well as the one for the brownies.

“Baking is one of my favorite things to do. Keeps my hands busy and my mind busy and then there are delicious things to eat or to share or both once it’s finished. I’m trying to make brownies with espresso today. Just to try it out. I think they’ll be good. You can all have some when I’ve finished. If you like.”

It was just Jaina today, which was probably why you were getting the class that you were. She'd also told everyone to come to the park, since it was nice enough and grass was softer.

Today you're going to do trust falls," she said. "You stand with your back to another person and fall back, trusting that they're going to catch you. Which sort of takes the actual trust out of it. That's why today, you're going to do trust falls, but the catcher can decide whether or not they're actually going to catch the faller. Do you trust the person to save you? Can you be trusted to do the saving? And we're going to do a few rounds, so don't think you're safe if you get through it once."

Yep, this was definitely a Jaina-not-Jag class.

Jon was smiling. He was doing his best. It looked a bit pained.

"Today's tip for conversation is to be enthusiastic. You want to show enthusiasm for what people are discussing. So that's what we're going to practice. Each of you is going to choose a topic to discuss, and the others of us will be enthusiastic about it. Whether we are or not."

He waved note cards. "I have suggestions again if you can't think of something to talk about."

"I hope you're all ready for a game of 'I Spy,'" Ghanima laughed, handing out binnoculars as the students arrived. "Today we are heading to Hemis National Park, before the unofficial tourist-season opening, to look for their famed snow leopards!"

"Hemis is a high-elevation national park in Hemis in Leh district of Ladakh, India. The park has the highest density of snow leopards in any protected area in the world. However, Hemis functions very differently from other national parks and reserves in the country. You won’t find different wildlife zones or lodges here. And while the snow leopards are the park's main focus, with 200 breeding pairs, 16 mammal species and 73 bird species have been recorded in the park so far. You may see Argali, Bharal, Shapu, the Asiatic ibex, the Tibetan wolf, the Eurasian brown bear -- endangered in India -- Himalayan marmot, mountain weasel and the Himalayan mouse hare."

"Unlike many national parks, over 1,600 people live inside the park boundaries, mostly pastoralists raising poultry, goats, and sheep. This results in considerable animal-human conflict within the region. Snow leopards prey on livestock." Ghanima shrugged. "Often because the families are overgrazing their livestock outside the permitted bounds. It is a delicate balance between supporting the habitation of families that have been there for generations, and not overly interfearing with the snow leopards."

"The park also houses numerous Tibetan gompas and holy chortens within its boundaries. These include the famous 400-year-old Hemis Monastery. Hemis was a destination and via point on the silk routes of Tibet, and has long been a place of pilgrimage for Tibetan Buddhists. However, in the late 19th and early 20th century, the monastery attracted some attention due to the writings of Nicolas Notovitch, a Russian aristocrat and journalist, who claimed that Jesus had spent the missing years of his life in Tibet and Ladakh, specifically in Hemis."

The portal opened right as Ghanima finished speaking. "Right on time!" she laughed, taking Trebor's hand as he played with the binoculars hanging around his neck. "Let's go find some big cats!"

Stark had picked up rainbow cookies yesterday at JGoB that he brought for the nurses (and any visitors, honestly) along with the usual coffee delivery.

Stabby was painting a picture of rainbow lobsters in his tank, apparently in a creative mood again and no longer quite so obviously plotting something. For now.

The clinic was open, the crab was being artsy, and the alien was in.

Anakin and Ahsoka were standing in front of a roofless L-shaped building made of concrete. It had two low doorways on either end of the structure.

"Before we explain what we're standing in front of," Anakin began, "we want to see the art you obviously spent all week creating for us."

"I'm sure you've all done your best." For someone who looked serene, Ahsoka had a definite vibe of glee about her today.

"Even if your best is very bad," Anakin said, nodding. "Let's see what you've brought."

Once Anakin had very judgily judged everyone's art, Ahsoka extended her hand towards the nearest entrance to the, let's be real, it was a bunker. "If you would be so kind as to enter this structure here to receive your task."

Anakin read aloud: "Avoid getting wet by Ahsoka. You must remain inside the bunker. Ahsoka is outside the bunker and can't step inside. Longest to avoid getting wet wins. You have twenty minutes. Your time starts after Ahsoka gives an example of what she is capable of."

Ahsoka sent a water balloon arcing gracefully through the air and over the wall. Directly towards Cal. Sorry, Cal.

"Sorry, Cal," Anakin said with nothing like sincerity. "The rest of you should probably move."

More water balloons started to come over the wall as Ahsoka started jogging around the outside of the bunker.

Good Morning Fandom, it's Monday, so once again it is Detective Watts bringing you everything that happened on Sunday.

Which consists of a single note from the Town, where Mr. Boc was indulging not just in his usual cinnamon roll but also a fruit tart. Stark came in and they discussed the idea of learning to cook, which Mr. Boc is quite dead set against.

And that is all there is to say about yesterday's goings-on. Until next week, then.

Fine. Fine. Ahem. Hello, this is Tony Stark with the news from yesterday even though I think everyone was busy hiding out after the whole luggage thing. Gray was in one of the dorm common rooms, doing a little retail therapy. Which I never disapprove of.

But that's all there is. So hopefully everyone is feeling refreshed now and ready for the week ahead. And I'm going back home to take a nap. Ciao!

Gray missed Graham (and Triumph), but he was glad of the extra closet space, especially now that his Converse collection was once again expanding. (Moving out at the end of the summer? He'd cross that bridge when he came to it. There was still space in Raiden's spare room!...probably. He had put a lot of Squishmallows in there. (It was fine. He could sleep on the Squishmallows.))

He was camped out on the common room's couch with his tablet for his shopping adventures. He was definitely planning to customize a pair of low tops, and he'd added the high tops with flames and a crop top to his cart already, but he was trying to figure out...

"Oh, thank all the little gods, they have zippers." No way he was lacing and unlacing those beasts every time he wanted to wear them. Sloth would never stand for that nonsense.

Good morning, everyone! It is I, Miss Lydia Bennet, here to bring you all the news the squirrels saw fit to import. You know how this works, or are else rapidly learning, so let's get to it, shall we?

We shall begin with the school, where Relax and Chill broke things, which doesn't sound terribly relaxing to me, but perhaps I am missing something. Galactic Tourism visited "Voss-Ka," which sounds a lovely place. There are shrines, and more importantly, shopping. First Aid learned that some people can fly, and relatedly what to do when someone falls from a great height. My plan is to scream for help very loudly. In non-class news, Miss Vess spent some time in her office, where she was visited by Mr. Anthony Stark.

I am not seeing any notes for the dormitory, so we move along to the town, where Mr. Rand was at the Perk, where he and Miss Vess discussed television programming. So far I have only encountered 'curling,' which is...not to my taste, I think. At Plant Parenthood, Miss Eleanor was considering the classes she missed on Thursday--oh, yes, staying in was very wise of you, Eleanor, I wish I had thought of that--and at the Trooper Station Detective Watts was dealing with some sort of labeling drama before he was joined by Mr. Grant for luncheon. Miss Skywalker tried out a machine that rows for you at her warehouse--

*chittering*

The squirrels say the machine is so that you can pretend to row. Why on Earth would anyone ever want to do that? A sentiment Miss Skywalker echoed to Dean Skywalker, who wanted to place the rowing machine in the lava. I am pleased to see we are all in agreement on the utility of the device, then, and that brings me to the end of my notes. Until next week, dear listeners, farewell!
